Welcome Everybody to the Official Website of John Torkos Art!
This is my first entry in a new blog series on my brand spanking new website (as you may tell) for my career as an American Comic-Book Artist. Usually I like to ramble on in the descriptions of my Instagram and Facebook posts. But I have been trying to keep those more concise for reach and posting speed efficiency! Social media tends to be an added stress and responsibility to attend to but an important one for my career! So let's keep my thoughts and ramblings on this side of the internet and maybe make a monthly habit of this!
Secondly, besides the new website, I launched my first Kickstarter on April 7th for my new comic-book series,Blade of Justice ! Blade of Justice is a Mythology Fantasy comic-book series in a Historical-Fiction setting. If you are a fan of comics like Wonder Woman and Red Sonja and video game series like Assassin's Creed (Desmond Saga) and God of War, then you you will feel the most at home with the direction and tone of the series! Issue#1 ,The Joust is a 48 page comic containing 36 action-packed pages of plot and follows Lady Justice swiftly wielding her blade against Medieval/Renaissance injustice! For over two millennia Lady Justice has been an iconic symbol for empires, states, courtrooms and the judiciary around the world. Now she is a Medieval Heroine and Executioner of the Gods...
The year is 1559, following the aftermath of a series of wars that last 65 Years. The Valois French Kings waged war against the Spanish Hapsburgs and the Holy Roman Empire, fighting for control over lands in Northern Italy… And in the streets of Paris, through royal edict, newfound Huguenots and Calvinists are unjustly executed for treason against the Roman Catholic Church. The people cry for Justice from their oppression and now She answers.
If you want to see more of her you can check out the My Book tab and what the trailer for Issue One or open the video in Youtube. I just created a Youtube Channel to post my trailer and other video content in the future. Planning on exploring other ways of getting my art out there. So maybe I can do a livestream or short form time-lapse reels. Please let me know what type of content you may like to find over at my Youtube in the hopeful near future.
Okay I believe this is about the right time to wrap this up. If you reached it this far, well thank you for your time, the visit to my site and of course your support!
Many Thanks!
